Osaka Steak & Sushi House

I'd like to start by saying we've never came in and sat down. Everytime we have gotten food it has been to go. Absolutely incredible experience everytime, they never forget anything, they always get every special change right. It's always done within 20 to 25 minutes after my initial call. And the food is by far the best Garden City has to offer. Salmon and shrimp, volcano roll, even the plain fries rice and simple sushi rolls are amazing and delicious. I can not exaggerate enough how much we love this place.

The sushi is amazing as well as the salmon with rice dish. Our server was very nice. I really love that they allow their workers to bring their children to work, we need more business to allow that as long as the children don’t interfere with their work. I noticed a bad review due to the babies being present however not everyone understands simple things such as accommodation, the babies weren’t interfering with anything and some people are single mothers and need that accommodation. I respect a business that can provide accommodations to servers and can say myself that the best server I’ve had here by far was the mother of those babies. They didn’t interfere with her work at all and she was very kind and funny.

The food really is top-notch here, especially when the sushi options of western Kansas are a touch limited. Went in here with my wife and my 2 younger kids for dinner. So my last visit and review told of feeling ignored, as our service was slower than others arriving after us. Today was even worse. The lady seating people tried to seat the group in line behind us before us. When both groups voiced our displeasure, she ignored us and did anyway. By the time our food arrived, almost all the groups that been behind us in line had been served, eaten, and left, and the line was about 30 minutes long. This is becoming a problem, as this is the second visit in a row that this has happened. I had previously rated as 4 star, but now the excellent food isn't enough to offset the poor service, so I'm taking a star off.

VERY OBJECTIVE REVIEW HERE!

When i go to a restaurant, i have 4 different criteria.
1. Food quality 2. Service 3. Value for money 4. The place

I will easily give a 5 star for the 1st 3 criteria. The food was very nice. I loved their fried rice and the osaka special roll. We have been served by a very jolly and bubbly young mexican lady. I wish to mention her name but i didn't see her name tag. We were pre emptied that the sushi may take a bit longer which is a good strategy to not disappoint the customers.

The 4th criteria failed though. The place is dated. They need to update their upholstery, floor should be clean, and i wish the restaurant to smell nice hence, i am giving an over-all rating of 4/5.

Overall experience was still great. I would still come back here to eat their good food!
