“Great new sandwich shop in CG! While I’m a believer that a Reuben ought to be on rye bread, mine was good (and large!) anyway. A touch on the dry side. My wife enjoyed her turkey sandwich, and my son said his ham and cheese was great. My other son wasn’t a fan of how thick (and tough) the bread on his PB&J was. The baked potato salad had great flavor but the potatoes were a little underdone and kind of crunchy. Both kids loved their frisbee plates! Overall it’s a nice place with really friendly staff, and I’m sure they’ll get a few hiccups worked out as they get settled in. I’ll certainly eat here again.”

“Spent a day sightseeing around central Kansas and ended up in Council Grove to see some historical sites, visit Flint Hills Books and get something to eat. Decided smoked meat sounded good after asking for a recommendation at the bookstore. This place doesn't look like much from the e outside, but the food is absolutely delicious. Service was great, too. But seriously, make sure you save room for pie! Not even kidding. Best flaky crust and soooooo delicious. Come hungry and leave full. The cowboy beans and coleslaw are made in house and super tasty. Try them!”

“Great rustic place, service was very good and the food pretty good as well. The chicken fried steak was large! I don't know if it was previously frozen, but it seemed to be hand battered and it was clearly a slab of sirloin. The beef flavor was there but I don't think the meat itself was seasoned. As this dish goes, this was a good example! I'll be happy to come back next time I'm in the area.”

“A history lesson and a great meal! The operator was highly knowledgeable of the area's history, and was more than happy to share many interesting and funny anecdotes with us. Even better, the food was excellent! I got the bison pot roast with succotash and sweet potatoes, and my partner got the Swedish meatballs. Both were incredibly good, and tasted fresh and healthy. The bread was fresh and homemade, and was awesome. I absolutely intend to come back and eat later.”
