A Taste of Home

This place is GOOD. Really good. I've been here a lot over the years and it's never disappointed.

I was looking for someone to provide prepared meals for my family during a busy season and Melissa graciously came through for me. The food is excellent and the service is awesome and flexible.

We were looking for an open local restaurant on our way on a Sunday through rural Kansas and were pleasantly surprised to find this gem! Homemade Brisket special and Philly sandwiches did not disappoint! Friendly staff and patrons!

Friendly hosts and cooks. Large portion sizes. Great Beef. This is worth a quick stop. Right off of highway 77. Restaurant attached to a Sale Barn with sales every Wednesday. I had the Meatball Grinder which was the daily special. Very good all around place.

Exceptional meat with an okay delivery system - excellent service.

You'd never think of it, but a livestock market is a great place to get top-notch meat. A Taste of Home takes that counter-intuitive truth and puts a perfect spin on it. These people understand meat and meat-based food.

I also have to commend their servers. They're professional, polite, and thunder-quick. We were in good hands the entire time.

If you are passing through Herington, go here. And if you do, be sure to get their philly cheese fries -- they are like salted strips of distilled joy.

However, I would commend it to them to invest some more time in figuring out what accompanies the meat. My meal was great, but a glorious piece of beef deserves a glorious setting, just as a flawless diamond deserves a pretty mounting. There were a couple points where my shredded-beef tacos were an obstacle to my shredded beef, rather than its fit companions.

This is a small objection, though. This place is well worth a visit.
