The Hut in Long Island

Great local spot off the highway! Today’s special was the mushroom and Swiss burger — fresh beef and yum yum. Also had the fried chicken sandwich which not as good as burger but still decent. The gem was the homemade pickle and onion diced salad and a side of cold pasta salad. Good quality onion rings. To top it off you get a soft serve cup of ice cream with your meal. I got the twist which rocked!!

Have to support these local Americana stops and give the chain restaurants a break. Great customer service. My only plea is getting more local or house made fare on menu like cold salads or making own sauces like ranch or BBQ. Next time going through Kansas we’ll be back!

We came to long island and brought my mom to her 81st class reuion. This cute little hut was a welcomed surprise in a little town. The food was wonderful, Pat and her husband were welcoming. We drove by several different times during the day and they were busy e.every time

Such wonderful people! My daughter and I were travelling from Sioux Falls to AZ, we had to stop somewhere (anywhere) to avoid an "accident" lol anyway, even though they had just closed, they let my daughter use their restroom and we bought two ice cream cones (which were delicious) I'd give 10 stars if i could :)

So good! Cheese burgers were PERFECT and it was the best malt I've had in 20 years.

Met Mrs. Hammond in the parking lot. What a delightful lovely woman. Very happy we met her.

They have so much variety on their menu and are some of the friendliest people you'll meet. Great food, and so convenient to have it right in town. If you haven't tried them, you're missing out. Tell 'em I sent ya!
