Viva La Fiesta Of Wamego

They've really gone all out on the decor here. It's very colorful and intricate. The food is good and pretty fast service. It's a bit more expensive than La Hacienda next door. How the two ended up so close together is sort of odd. Overall a very satisfying meal.

Tonight was my first time eating here and I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, our waiter didn't speak english very well at all or understand english. I ordered a beef chimichanga. The menu had either chicken or shredded beef and I wanted shredded beef. I was excited to see that the restaurant had shredded beef since Carlos O'Kelly's had stopped having shredded beef on their menu years ago. I also said that I didn't want guacamole. The waiter asked me a question about my order and since I couldn't understand him I thought that he was just confirming that I had said that I wanted beef. After he had brought our chips and salsa, he came back to the table with a dish of guacamole. I told him that I was sorry but I had said no guacamole. Then when we got our food, there was guacamole on my plate. But the biggest disappointment was that the chimichanga was ground beef instead of shredded beef. It wasn't bad although it was a little dry. If I ever go back, I hope that there won't be any misunderstandings from a language barrier. Our waiter was very nice, we were both just having a problem understanding each other.

We've only had a few dishes and the cheese dip but they were very flavorful. It's been less than a month since our first visit and we're returning tonight.
