Shila took excellent care of us on our first outing into Post/Covid America...thanks.
Had to.change up our morning routine and went to Village Inn. The food was really good, great coffee and excellent french silk pie. It was a little slow getting our breakfast and took a little longer than normal to get our coffee. But overall, the service was good, it was fairly quiet, not many uncontrolled children, and the staff was friendly. Great experience.
The one thing Village Inn lacks is consistency. I have gone and had top notch meals. I have gone and also had some seriously blah food. Today was one of the second ones. We ordered Reuben sandwich's. They arrived with no dressing. One of the keys to a Reuben is the freaking dressing. The corned beef was dry AF and in chunks that fell out at random when you bit into it. Normally the wife gets this sandwich and I always regret not getting one. This time I wish I had gotten the burger. Service was good overall, didn't have to ask for refills, which is a major plus for me. The free pie Wednesday is what brought us back but not again if the next time was as blah as this one.
It was quite pleasant. Service was very good. We wanted to sit and talk and was allowed to do that without feeling pressured. The pie and coffee were excellent.
I had the pick 4 breakfast. It was very tasty. Eggs, bacon, mini pancakes, biscuit and gravy. The food was a little cool by the time it got to our table. The service was some of the best I have ever seen. She checked on us regularly and was very friendly.
