I've been lucky enough to follow Janelle's journey from The Workroom to her expansion of Birney's snack shop and to say I'm impressed would be a gross understatement.
Visiting Birney's Pre-Pandemic was a quaint and peaceful experience. I had a variety of snackies to choose from including some wholesome Saturday-Morning cereal reminiscent of a childhood with early-morning cartoons and no concept of a To-Do list as well as breakfast burritos and several locally-roasted coffees.
Never having said "no" to any kind of burrito n my life I opted for a fresh-wrapped chorizo breakfast burrito and imagine my excitement at the discovery of an ENTIRE SALSA BAR!
While customizing my delicious burrito was a fun experience, walking about in the Workroom with said burrito was a treat in and of itself. If there's one thing I like more than eating, it's shopping. By combining the two, Birney's hits the Saturday Morning Shopping experience out of the park!
Like many of you, I have been keeping note of how businesses have responded to current affairs. Have they put profit over people? Have they kept the health and safety of their employees as priority or have they only been concerned with sales?
Janelle took expectations above and beyond by not only keeping her patrons and employees safe but by handing out hundreds of FREE sack lunches to anyone in need, no questions asked, for weeks on end.
Birney's is more than a snack shop, it's a prime example of community support and good business sense. Wichita is lucky to have Janelle and all that she has built and I am looking forward to giving her my business for years to come.

Came for a Steve Santana executive chef from little Saigon pop up. Amazing service and great drinks. Food was also awesome of course. The outdoor is set up very well and the couch on the side is very comfortable. We had a lot of fun. It was perfect weather to sit outside and have a drink and eat.
