I loved the banh mi and the pho. Pricing is excellent, $24 for two people to eat a sandwich and a bowl of pho. It's pleasant to sit at despite the strange corner it's at. The food was hot. Quiet. The atmosphere is nice. Kid friendly if your child has a well developed sense of taste.
This is an awesome place for Pho. It is a hole in the wall, but the food make up for everything else. Ask them about the Pho Cessna (it is not on the menu). They also have the Bánh Bèo occasionally as an appetizer so I usually get that too.
Large #1 pho with some shredded Thai Basil. This is a lovely little hole in the wall restaurant, great egg rolls, and the bahn mi sandwichs are amazing. I've tried a couple other dishes here also that did not disappoint.
The beef stew with French loaf was great! Lots of beef with chewy tendons and gristle, just the way I like it. Your jaw will get a good workout with this!
This is a great little hole in the wall. The staff and owners seem to be two Vietnamese ladies who are very kind and endearing.
The prices, if you look at the menu photo, are below normal prices yet the servings are larger. To compare, Saigon and Little Saigon downtown are more expensive but the servings are much smaller.
The menu is more diverse than usual, offering wonton noodle soup with char siew (roast pork) and several offerings not usually seen. I have had the bun riue (crab and tomato noodle soup) and it blew me away. I can't remember seeing it elsewhere but I usually go just for pho, and it reminds me very much of laksa, an incredible curry soup I can't find in Wichita but is local to Singapore and Malaysia, spreading in popularity similarly to pho in SE Asia and Oceania.
I've had several offerings and am just super happy with this place. They sell servings of the chilli (not sriracha which simply means chilli, but ground chilli pepper in mild oil), and it's also on the table. If you like chilli, this is the no salt, no nonsense version.
If I had to choose between the higher profile places and here, servings and value aside, I would still go here. Flavorful and a legit atmosphere.
