Only place in Wichita we will come if want Mexican food! Food is superb!! Relaxing atmosphere and the staff is very friendly
Stopped here for lunch. The inside was very nice. I was greeted and seated promptly. I was then supplied with chip and 3 sauces, like others have said the sauce in the bowl was very runny but it had great flavor. The other 2 were in bottles, a green sauce and a red hot sauce. They both had great flavor, the hot was a bit much for my tastes, I found that mixing the green and red made for an excellent taste. I ordered the enchiladas, probably some of the best I've had. They were stuffed full of meat and the sauce on that covered them was full of flavor. The tortillas were corn with I don't normally like but these were thick and had a mild corn taste that did not over power which is what I prefer. The rice was bland but I've only found one place that I like the rice. The refried beans were some of the best I've had, next time I will probably asked for double beans and skip the rice.
My waiter did a good job but he was the only person waiting tables and seating people so while he did great considering the circumstances I felt the service could have been better.
They have a large menu and I want to go back and try other things. The items remind me of what I see in Chihuahua when I go there for work.
The prices are on the higher side but if the amount of food is comparable to what I got then it will be worth it.
The street tacos were very good, the chips and salsa were ok, the red salsa was fire! They also had creama on the table. Nice lunch, cheap!
A friend and I stopped in for lunch... we wanted to try a new, local place and ended up here.
First, the place was clean and tidy. Beautiful woodwork and painted murals on the walls.
We got seated quickly and took a few minutes to browse through the extensive menu. Our server brought out our chips and salsas. The bowls of salsa were like water. The two squeeze bottles were good. One was a really spicy salsa, the second was an avocado crema, and it was very good.
My friend ordered ice water and one of the molcajete bowls (tons of veggies, chicken, steak, shrimp, red sausage (similar to a hot link, but not hot),,and octopus (delicious, tender and NOT rubbery or tough!) Came with beans and rice and tortillas. Honestly, we could have just shared that. It was HUGE!
I ordered an ice tea, with a side of guacamole to start (it came in a cheese shell. Good concept, but the cheese tasted burnt to me.) My friend, however, really liked it. The guacamole itself was just ok, not really worth the $9.99, in my opinion.
Then I got something that was similar to fajitas. Peppers, onions, chicken, steak, red sausage, and chorizo (I said no to the chorizo and Cilantro, as both do not agree with me), was served on a sizzling cast iron platter, and came with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. It was very good. They are large portions, so be hungry or prepared to take leftovers in a box to go. Prices are reasonable given the size of the portions.
The atmosphere was nice, the only thing was, for me, the music was a little loud as there was only one other table other than ours. It would have probably been okay if they had more people in the building. Also, we were each charged a "service fee" for which neither of us knew what for.
Our server was nice and attentive but not bothersome. I took his suggestion on my entree, and it didn't disappoint.
Overall, it was a good experience, and I recommend giving it a try!
