Mehak Indian Cuisine

Went this past Sunday, we need a new Indian restaurant because ours moved to Somerset. KY. Well I took a look at the buffet it looked okay. Well the food was sugar sweet and lacked flavor. I did order a bowl of soup from the kitchen and that had the heat I was looking for and the flavor better than what was on the buffet. I would maybe try this place again. The hunt is on in finding a great Indian restaurant.

Tried this brand new Indian restaurant that is located conveniently on campus right beside the cornerstone garage. Had the lunch buffet and was amazed at the variety of food that was offered, a much larger variety than most Indian buffets I’ve been to. The chicken tikka masala was delicious. Prices were reasonable for the lunch buffet but are quite high for the dinner buffet.

I’m so excited about this Indian restaurant RIGHT across the street from UK’s campus! I’ve only been once, and I haven’t tried their buffet, but I’ll tell what I know. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and attractive, with a nicely spaced floor plan. The food came to us in a timely manner, made with fresh, high quality ingredients. Good portions, AMAZING taste (you can’t beat Indian flavors). Note: The food (in particular the chutney) is more hot/spicy compared to other Indian places around Lexington, but I ordered my dish mild and it wasn’t hot/spicy at all, so they can adjust to sensitive palates. The food is a little pricey, but it’s worth the price, and I’m guessing their lunch buffet would cost less than the evening meal we had.

This place is definitely worth a try, especially if you’ve never had Indian food. Don’t skimp out on the vegetable-based curries! Staff and ownership was very happy to showcase items at the buffet and even get us fresh naan.

Mehak offers a wide variety of Indian dishes that are comparably priced to other Indian restaurants around Lexington. They have a great location close to UK’s campus and the staff was very friendly! They also have a lunch and dinner buffet that is fully stocked with everything you’d want. Definitely give this place a try - the food was great!
