Saul Good Restaurant & Pub

I loved this place! It was great food! We were staying at the Lexington Hamburg Holiday Inn close by and we chose Saul Good Restaurant & Pub because it was a local place - we like to choose places we don't have at home so that we can get a feel for the true city or town. Our server was so very nice and friendly with true southern charm. We heard Lexington was known for their beef so tried the rib eye and coming from Chicago where there are great restaurants I can tell you the taste of this steak was better than I ever had in a restaurant. It was cooked just as I ordered it. We also decided to try a Southern dish of Shrimp and Grits. Again, it was the best Shrimp and Grits I ever had. I admit I haven't had it very many times in my life but I can't believe there would be any better. For dessert we ordered the Donut Pudding and it was a large portion and very delicious. I wish we could visit this place more often but we were visiting. Will definitely look for it if I return to Lexington. The place had good ambience inside like a bar and grill should and also there was an outdoor patio if you prefer. Check my photos.

The food is always great, but I never stop being impressed with how accommodating Saul Good is when it comes to allergies and substitutions. They're always willing to adjust dishes if needed. I take people here every time they visit town.

Well.. 5 stars for food selection! BUT maybe they should hire a more vibrant staff. My husband and I sat at the bar. We are very friendly outgoing people, but it seemed like the hostess and bartender hated their life :/

First time here and it was a great experience!! Food and service was great too! I recommend the beet salad too!
