The pizza is always good, baked until crisp and bubbly and their spicy "smashed" sauce is very tasty with just the right amount of heat. I love the traditional chopped salad, which, although it has limited ingredients, (lettuce, onions walnuts, parmesan), has a nice balsamic dressing and the flavors blend perfectly (if you add the blackened chicken it is definitely a large, tasty "meal".) We always have a lemon bar for dessert which comes with a mildly sweetened creme and macerated strawberries and is my absolute favorite part of the meal. Tangy with a hint of crunch, the flavors of the lemon, cream and berries blend perfectly and make your mouth happy and, at least for the hubs and I, it is big enough to share.
Ohhhh wait I almost forgot the tomato soup it is one of my favorite soups ever... smooth, creamy tomato with bits of chicken, slightly spicy, slightly sweet and perfectly delicious.
Also the food is consistently good - we have never visited (and we do so often) and thought, "this wasn't as good as last time."
I love it here and I come too often! I crave the smashed sauce. The service has always been consistently amazing.
2018: So inexpensive and so very good. This is my go-to spot with the kids. Awesome artichoke dip, pizza. Never a long wait. Worth visiting often.

Experience consistent. Excellent customer service, great dinner special.
I’ve Had many gluten free pizzas. Most are ok but not great. Not sure what’s happening here but it’s incredible. Not only are their prices great but the quality and service leaves smashing tomatoes a notch above the rest in every category. Even though I’m not from the area I make a special trip any time I’m close. A true gem ! Just FYI, I never leave reviews on anything but felt compelled because it’s so good . Enjoy !
My wife and were visiting Lexington so I began searching for a place to eat dinner. I saw that the reviews for this restaurant were good. So we thought we would try it out. We ordered the Italiano Pizza, salads, tomato soup and drinks. Everything was great especially the tomato soup. The total bill was around $27.00 which I thought was real reasonable. The manager checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was alright. We topped it off with their dessert of vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso over it. It was very good. If you are looking for a great place with great food try The Smashing Tomato.
