Winchell's Restaurant & Bar

We were looking for a simple, "local favorite" place for dinner and we hit the jackpot with Winchell's. This is about as local as you could ask for- families and neighbors dining side by side- and our service was excellent despite a really busy night. It's a small place, so it gets a little loud, but the food and friendliness make up for it. As busy as they were, our waitress, who was also tending the bar, was attentive and smiling the whole time; never appeared flustered or rushed in any way. And the owner even stopped by the table to be sure we were satisfied. Winchell's was a terrific experience and we will definitely be back- its very easy to see why the community supports them.

Cannot wait to come back! Our server was just the sweetest, he even helped us order when we couldn't decide on what to order and was definitely on top of making sure we had everything. When we went to leave, someone even dropped everything and rushed to the door to hold it for us. Food is so good too. Next time we are in Lex we will return

Stopped by while we were in town visiting family. We toured the Makers Mark Distillery and wanted to get some hearty food to eat before heading home. Wow!! Glad we did!!

Large portions, great taste and easy parking. Will definitely stop again while in town.

Truly a great little place. The Reuben sandwich was good, the white bean soup is excellent as were the fried mushroom appetizer. The mushrooms are the real deal- hand breaded fresh not frozen. Hot Brown is really good also. A great place to go for local flavors but also has some upscale items also. Definitely worth checking out!
