Shelby's

Shelby's is in the location of one of our old favorite diners that closed, Capital Diner. We were excited to try it out it's replacement.

We ordered Fried Mushrooms to start. Breading was battered, which I'm usually not a fan of, but it was delicious! Crispy without being greasy. It's served with ranch which was ok. My husband had the Coney Platter with onion rings and coleslaw. Chili on the dogs was very good! Hot dog itself looked to be all beef, lots of flavor. Coleslaw was small chopped and tangy. Onion rings were battered and once again, delicious batter!

I had the BLT with french fries. BLT was good, plenty of bacon and REAL MAYO...not Miracle Whip 🤢 which my state is so fond of. Fries were crispy and delicious. It was hot outside so we drank water.

All of this came to $18! It was great food and you get large portions. We saw the burger which looks homemade and enormous! And they have a smoker outside to smoke the bologna for a Smoked Bologna sandwich.

They also serve breakfast. We will be back to try it soon

You'll definitely want to stop off the interstate for this experience!
