Sam's Southern Eatery

Family of 4 ate dinner. The fried pickles were good, but there was a huge pile of them that were stuck together which was annoying. I had the Philly. It was ok. My wife had the a 3 piece fish, she enjoyed it and she enjoyed the green beans. I also tried the fish and it was good. One of my son's had the shrimp Po-boy and he enjoyed it. My youngest had the grilled cheese kids meal and didn't like it. And the Mac and cheese left something to be desired (flavorless). I felt the prices were a little high and the restaurant needed more work. Looked the same as the previous restaurant that was there with the tables covered and moved. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but the prices are just high enough to keep me from coming back.

I've eaten there twice thus far and have enjoyed it both times. Fish is good, as are the shrimp, the crab cakes, and the coleslaw.

I was skeptical about this place at first, but going in those fears were put to rest. The ordering was easy, the food came out quickly. We both ordered the crawfish po'boy, I got hush puppies and hubby got red beans and rice as side. Both were delicious. The sandwiches were really good, plenty of meat. Seasonings were good, a little salty, but good.
Nice wide open space, clean and bright. Will definitely be back!

If you’re looking for a pretty good place to get some fish or seafood, you know shrimp or crabcakes. Maybe even some oysters. And this place is for you! I’ve gone to the two locations in Evansville and have not been disappointed. Although I went on opening night here, it was not disappointing at all. They were running as though they had been open for a while. I’ve heard that they’ve had some ups and downs with ordering food but that’s fine, they have a great product give them a chance they will get it all sorted out. But if you’re looking for something other than fish, their chicken tenders are really good, and The Philly cheesesteak is great. So if you’re looking for good food at a reasonable price and quick service, then you should definitely check Sam’s out!
