Addis Abeba Ethiopian Bar & Restaurant

We stopped for dinner while passing through Louisville. Situated in a somewhat rough-looking shopping center, we weren't sure what to expect. We were so glad we stopped. The food here is outstanding and the owner is so friendly! If it's busy, there may be a little bit of a wait as he is cashier, cook, waiter,v and busboy all in one but any way is worth it. The prices are reasonable, too. For around $30, my wife and I had dinner and enough left over for us both to have lunch the next day. Highly recommended!!

First time dining here. Small but nice atmosphere. Food was very good. I had the vegetarian platter. The collard greens were seasoned and lightly spicy. The yellow lentils and the red lentils were spicy, for me could have been spicier. The salad with onion, lettuce, tomato and lite dressing was very good. Got seconds with no extra charge. Chef/owner was friendly. Pleasant conversation and checked to see if we were satisfied with the food. Hope to visit again.

I love this place. The owner, Mr. Worku, is super cool. He'll come have conversation with the guest. The food is great.

Being raised in Ethiopia, I have been on the hunt for good, authentic Ethiopian food since moving to Louisville a few months ago. I tried a lot of the popular restaurants in the area and nothing left an impression. We stumbled upon Addis Abeba Ethiopian restaurant while on the road and I am so thankful we did. Some of THE best Ethiopian food I’ve had in the States, period. The employees could not have been nicer and more helpful and the food is not only delicious but incredibly authentic - reminded us of our home away from home! This restaurant will be out new go-to!

Absolutely delicious! I got the lamb tibs to go and the food was prepared fast by a super friendly staff (who i assume are the owners). The food traveled really well for something that I'd usually dine in to eat. Can't recommend this hidden gem enough.
