El Cancun Mexican Restaurant

Not impressed. This used to be the old Senoe Iguanas. My friend and I went in later in the evening. Took awhile for drinks - but they tasted very good. Recommend the mojitos. However food was bland and service below par. It was late, but still about an hour from closing and we didn't order anything complicated, but we had to go ask for more water, and other things.

Really liked their new location. Great food & service! Margarita on special was excellent

The staff is friendly and the food is excellent! Definitely would recommend this to anybody wanting Mexican around St Matthews

I'm giving 3 stars based on their wonderful hospitality. There is no knowledge of ingredients, here. I have celiac and this is the only Mexican restaurant I have ever come across that the server did not understand the difference between wheat flour and corn flour and whether or not their chips/tortillas etc. contained wheat flour. He was very kind and admitted to not knowing the difference. Upsetting. That salsa looked soooo good!!

El Cancun is such a great place. The staff, food, experience, drinks, everything! The place has been completely re done and the work is amazing. Attention to detail was paid, especially all of the woodwork in the bar area. I’ve been to several Mexican restaurants in the area and I’m excited that Mario and Luis have brought this one to our side of town. It’s nothing short of amazing and you must try it! Try out the Margarona and the Is Special (chicken, cheese, rice). That’s my go to combo and they always nail it.
