Walt's Hitching Post

The evening at Walt's was a tale of two stories. 1. The food was excellent. I had the combo meal with a 6 oz. filet and half rack of petite ribs. It was by far the best steak and ribs in town. 2. The service was the real issue. It was a busy Saturday night but that should not be an excuse. Hard to get drink refills, salads took forever, not even done with salads and entree shows up. I was holding and eating out of my salad bowl while my entree sat on the table. Food was better than Ruby's but not close on service. I did see the Manager/owner (bald gentlemen) taking care of his good customers. Never said a word to our party of 6. Service starts at the top.

Crystal Metts is the best waitress! She was fun and the whole wait staff really took care of us all. Great service!

Amazing experience! All the food was top notch. Same with the bourbon and scotch selection. Highly recommend but bring the big boy wallet!

Walt's Hitching Post was great great food, service, and environment. We loved everything about the place. Nick and Jackson were terrific waiters. This may sound strange but the water was very good and cold.

My wife and I go here maybe twice a year and each time we have a great experience for completely different reasons. I love to try to eat a whole chicken by myself while she savours a tasty steak. The thing that has us laughing is the decor. It reminds us of the lodge in Twin Peaks with its quirkiness. If you happen to sit at a low top the chairs are ridiculously uncomfortable with their high arm rests. I recommend sitting at a high top near the bar where it's a little more comfortable. The food is delicious and the staff is professional and yet friendly. I like they're limited craft beer selection because it is varied. We were skeptical about the snails but we ordered them anyway and they were delicious. It went really well with the bread they served. Not too pricey and not too pretentious. Just right for us.
