Cutest little elderly lady with great stories and home cooking. Been there since they opened. Butter bean soup is amazing.
Took my best friend Chef Eric Brawner for his birthday Saturday. The place was very full but was seated very quickly (hint: make reservations) Once everyone was seated we had time to look at the menu... WOW everything on it looked so good !!! I got the skillet friend chicken with red potatoes and side salad with homemade house dressing. I can tell you that the chicken has to be some of best I have ever eaten. The red potatoes were fried with onions so yummy. The corn cakes are off the page good i ate at least 6. I then had the chocolate bourbon sauce over ice cream they truly do it right here !! I live in Nashville and traveled 3 hours for dinner and its the best 6 hours round trip i have ever made
Great country cooking done just right! Every time we visit Bardstown we make sure we have dinner at Kurtz. Lovely family and what feels like their home.
The atmosphere is cozy and the employees are do cheerful and attentive. The food is wonderful. Enjoyed my visit..
Homemade coleslaw was delicious. They make a good Skillet Fried chicken. Coconut cream pie is highly recommended. Don't forget to try fried eggplant as well.
