Pura Vida Restaurant Costa Rican Cuisine

We enjoy our experience so much! The food was so good. The owner was friendly and sang for us. His voice and music were beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant.

What a wonderful dining experience! Though this restaurant may not look like much from the outside, once inside I felt as though I was in a small family restaurant in Costa Rica. The owner of the restaurant was most welcoming and gracious. He came to our table and sang to us while playing his guitar! Such a thrill! The food was outstanding. So fresh and authentic. I highly recommend this restaurant experience, and we will definitely be going back.

I hadn't had Costa Rican food before, and I'm glad my group stopped here. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful in explaining how Costa Rican food is different than other nearby country's food. I got a tour of Costa Rica and my plate was stuffed full of meat, beans, rice, tortillas and some sides. It was all delicious and flavorful. There were some vegetarian options that could be made vegan and my boyfriend said they were tasty as well. Before we left the owner serenaded us with a song he sang and played on his guitar. It was a wonderful experience in Somerset, KY.

The food here is very flavourful. If the idea of getting black beans and rice at a restaurant sounds like a waste of time to you, then this is the place to prove that wrong. They have a few vegetarian dishes that are easily made vegan. My girlfriend said the meat dishes were awesome as well. The owner is remarkably nice and has a great singing voice. I look forward to coming to Somerset again and eating at Pura Vida.

First visit. The owner/host was super friendly. To drink, I had a mango smoothie which was made from all fresh ingredients and very good. This was my first time eating Costa Rican food, so I wasn't sure what to expect. For my meal I had the sample platter, at the recommendation of the host. Everything was absolutely delicious. The only downside was that when I return, I will have a hard time choosing what to order because every thing on the sampler platter was so good.
