The bourbon chocolates were delicious and the grounds and tasting room were clean and friendly. I liked the outdoor patio and porch for enjoying the spring day on a rocking chair.
I do wish I had done a tasting before selecting a bourbon to take home. I didn’t personally like the one I chose but I’ve never had bourbon before so that’s probably just my own preference and not the fault of this distillery. If you’re looking for genuine Kentucky bourbon on the route between Mammoth Cave National Park and Nashville this is the perfect stop.
This was our first time visiting a Distillery so we did not know what to expect but we had a great time at this little place. The taste and tour option is a steal at 12 bucks and the history lesson was informative. Touring the back area where the magic happens was cool which I say loosely because it was 102 degrees in there but awesome to get walked through the process. Guides were great. Included is a flight of samplers which range widely and we thoroughly enjoyed them all. I would say it was an enjoyable experience!
Absolutely amazing way to spend the day! Couple ounces of great Kentucky bourbon from the source. The staff was fantastic and very inviting and the tour was a great glimpse into the Kentucky bourbon world. Dueling grounds whiskey is doing it right! All handmade, even down to the labels in the bottles. Such a great stop on my visit in town from out of state, learn about some history and share a drink with strangers turned friends.
Stopped in for a tasting flight on the way from Mammoth Cave to Nashville. The bottled-in-bond and cask strength bourbons were solid, as was the barrel aged gin. My wife had a gin cocktail that she found delicious. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Recommended.
For an Owner/operated small boutique distillery it offers a variety of excellent bourbons and fruit liqueurs. Their Gin is probably one of the finest I've tasted in a very long time. The juniper and liquorice rounds off to a smooth citrus finish. It would make a perfect mix for any gin based cocktail. The tour was in depth, Robbie was our guide and knowledgeable on every aspect of the distilling, and bottling process.
Their 4 yr old 100 proof small batch is sweet in the front with a warmness at the end. It's unique in that after the heat settles it is smooth on the finish. Beautifully crafted. This distillery is definitely worth a visit and your support. Their products are distinct and every bit as good as the bigger bourbon names out there.
