Picked up jambalaya and topped it with their gumbo - gumbolaya! Had a friend turn me on to that mixture. Try it!
The wait was very long even though there was barely any one in the drive thru. After we paid, the food was up very quickly, but it was a long wait to get to that point.
We ended up getting the chicken jambalaya dinner bowl which was a good amount of food for the price.
Individually, the with beans(that doesn't include white rice), the jambalaya, and the potato salad were all okay, but nothing I would rave about. The rice was a bit mushy and the white beans and potato salad seemed to be missing a bit of seasoning.
However, mixing all three with each bite created a great depth of interesting flavor and that's what made us happy to finish the plate.
If someone else wanted to go, I'd happily order something again, but I can't say I would seek it out intentionally on my own again.
Food was excellent and is priced very good for the amount you get. Sausage has amazing flavor. Must go to place imo
The new location is a big success. It's hard to find a time when they don't have a line. I'm much happier with the gumbo now. The roux is so much better adding the flavor one expects from a home cooked pot. The jambalaya is still great as before.
So my only complaint is that it takes longer to get my grub on, but that's to be expected when your hidden gem upgrades the building, adds a drive thru and refines the menu.
Great food, nice folks
