Steamboat Bill's DeRidder, LA

We enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Our only complaint is, of our party of five, 4 of us got our meals in about 20 minutes, we were told the other meal (crayfish) would be served in 10 minutes, but it took about 25 minutes. By the time the last meal came, the rest of us were done eating. Not a huge deal but, for future reference, let your customers know ahead of time, we would have happily waited for all our meals to come out together

I guess I went in at the wrong time of day. They didn't have any fried oysters for the platter. They didn't have boiled crawfish. They did have a lot of fried food on a $35 platter.
The server was absent from meal delivery until delivering the check. I had to self-serve my refill of a $3 drink.
The mushrooms were tasty. I thought the fish was good. I thought the shrimp tasted like something out of a bag, frozen until dropped in the fryer. The coleslaw was full of raw onions-gross.
The platter was worth $18.99 tops. Over priced.

Our first time trying this place. A bit surprised that I didn't get potato and corn with the half pound shrimp boil, but they were fresh, huge and flavorful. Catfish was delicious. Perfect pistolettes. Gigantic portion of fried mushrooms. We are stuffed and happy. Our server Alexis was sweet and attentive. Hubby said that the men's restroom was needing attention badly, but overall a very good experience. We will be back.

Good seafood. Cooked just right for my taste. FF were not over done. Shrimp tails were removed to where I got a full bite of shrimp each bite.

Good food, the service is not very good.
