The Brown Bag Cafe

This is the best hole in the wall place I've ever been to. The staff is so friendly it feels let you've been knowing them your whole life. The food is fantastic I'd have paid twice the price. I had the fried crawfish poboy. The ayole' sauce was creamy and just spicy enough. The crawfish seasoned and cooked just right. My sister had a burger with a seasoned horseradish sauce on it, now I don't like horseradish at all but this was slap ya momma good. It is worth the drive all the way out there for this food and service.

I've driven by 1000 times, finally stopped. It's almost literally a hole in the wall. 5 tables and 4 bar stools. Very cozy if not slightly cramped. The menu is huge. Almost to much to choose from. Unfortunately there was a list on the wall of items that where not available because they didnt have alot of the needed stock.

Ended up ordering the B.L.T. and the spicy steak wrap with seasoned fries and onion rings. The B.L.T. was very good, good size with plenty of bacon. The onion rings where the best I've had in a very long time. I didnt eat the spicy steak until later and you could tell it would have been good if eaten fresh but it doesn't keep well. Seasoned fries are not very good, seemed like frozen Walmart variety.

Overall the place is clean, the only person I talked to, my hostess/waitress/cashier was friendly and helpful. Would recommend to others and will return again!

We had an excellent breakfast there recently. Eggs Benedict & french toast were fantastic. My husband raved about the Philly Cheese steak omelet as well.

Not what you think from the name! The menu and the food are what you expect to find only in an upscale, big city restaurant! This will be my go to place from here on! The owner has been a chef all over, and has brought it all to one place!
