Food was probably some of the best Thai in the area. The presentations were nice as well. Will definitely go again.

The first time I came here the massaman ribeye curry was delicious with chunks of beef and potatoes and perfect seasoning and I gave the place 5 stars. Unfortunately, consistency and customer service are what make a good restaurant and Thaihey has neither. Today my friends and I did a takeout picnic and I got the massaman again. The coconut milk had separated so the sauce was chunky rather than smooth and tasted accordingly. I set it aside, ate my shrimp roll appetizer, and then put the curry in the fridge at work. The restaurant isn't far from where I live so I went back in with it in the evening to discuss it with the owners who are a husband and wife team. She should just let her American husband deal with customers because she does not take complaints well; I already knew this from an argument she had, in Thai, with a Thai friend of mine over their crab fried rice. In the end I was able to make the husband understand that I didn't want my money back, I wanted the curry as it was a couple of weeks ago. When I got home with the new curry, the consistency and spices were spot on but there was way too much salt.
From my previous review: The curry comes with a side of rice in addition to the potatoes in it. Caution as this if very much made from scratch and there are whole spices like cardamom, star anise, and cinnamon stick that you will need to pick out. I also got the crab fried rice and while it's good and has real crab chunks, it's not the massaman though I see by other reviews that it's very popular. (My Thai friend says she tastes butter in it and there is no butter in authentic Thai fried rice.) The serving size is generous, the massaman was in a 24 oz container and can easily feed 2, the fried rice maybe 1 1/2 or 2 for lunch. I did takeout but at the moment their tables are very spread out if you wish to dine in. (Sorry about the messy photo, I was just taking a break from sewing more masks.)

Menu doesn't overwhelm you with choices and everything uses first quality ingredients and large portion sizes. The chicken wing appetizers are good enough to be an entree on their own, they taste amazing. We also got shrimp pad Thai and the Beef Kraprow Khai Dao. If you're sensitive to spicy food, get the mild... It's still got some heat and the flavors really stand out. Can't wait to go back!
