Jude’s

Fabulous! Chicken is delicious- no matter which selection you choose… the workers are so sweet and friendly :)) The kids even ordered some with the sauce on the side and that was great as well. Order came out pretty fast. Not your ordinary-generic- chicken place… chicken is juicy and the breading is amazing.

My sister and I dined in and there were two workers and a few guys already waiting for their food. So my sister and I order and my sister gets her food after waiting 15 minutes, missing three parts of her order… and she eats and finishes her food and I still haven’t received my food after 30 minutes. It seemed like they were extremely short staffed/distracted. I asked for my food and they gave it to me after 5 minutes. The chicken itself was quite big which is nice but the whole meal tasted like movie theatre butter, and the chicken was only sauced on the top and bare on the bottom. Prices were very reasonable though, better than canes. Overall I would not recommend until their service gets better.

I got the chicken tender sandwich with the Nashville hot sauce, Mac and cheese, and fries. The tenders were really juicy and had a nice batter and season. The fries were nice and crispy, and the Mac and cheese was super thick. Very delicious meal. My only issue is the hot sauce. I was looking for a little more heat, maybe get the sniffles. Its definitely tasty. Hoping they up their spice game.

Edit: i had to drop them down to 4 stars, would've given then 3.5 if that was an option. The last 3 times I've been there they have shorted me shrimp on my orders. The first time it was 3 shrimp, the second time it was 6! And i had to go back in and complain! This must recent time they shorted me 3 shrimp again! Give people what they are paying for because this is not good service.
Ok I tried a new place today called Jude's Hot Chicken &Shrimp in Baton Rouge. They sell Nashville hot chicken inspired food. I ordered the chicken and shrimp platter and man was it good! They PILED so much food on this plate. It came with 2 HUGE tenders, 10 large shrimp, I subbed the coleslaw for Mac and cheese and then it came with fries and garlic bread... all for $15. Honestly, this could've easily fed 2 people because I was barely able to eat half. I got the Nashville honey sauce on the tenders and orange honey on the shrimp, both of these sauces were mild but delicious because I can't do much spice. Everything was a 10/10 and worth every penny!

At first, I was very upset that off the hook got closed down. My go to place for good affordable sea food. I saw Jude’s was open so decided to check it out, and WOW. Some of the best food I’ve had in BR that’s quick/affordable in a while. I got the Nashville hot which I hoped would be a bit more spicy but everything else was PERFECT.
