Fresh do-nuts, without the heavy grease. Fluffy, tasty flavor just the way they are meant to be enjoyed. Glaze and icing are not too sweet... just right for that 1st cup of coffee or hot tea, st the start of your day.
Went this morning at 11am to sit inside with my partner and our daughter before beginning birthday celebrations. The lobby was supposed to be open until 12pm but they closed it an hour early with no explanation. We went through the drive through and they didn’t have chocolate donut holes, no strawberry donuts or donut holes, no cinnamon rolls, no cinnamon twists, pretty much everything my spouse wanted they didn’t have and it was only 11am. We sat in the parking lot and ate the donuts but they were ice cold and definitely not as fresh as they could have been. Normally I don’t leave reviews but I felt like we should have just drove away and went somewhere else.
The donuts tasted like day old donuts and it’s 7:30 in the morning. I don’t mind a day old donut, I can just throw it in the microwave but I paid for a FRESH donut and not a discounted day old donut.
The donut is dense and slightly stale, not like a fresh soft or sometimes even warm donut that you would expect to get in the morning. I’m giving it 3 stars because I don’t want to be too critical on them for this misstep.
It is however bad business to serve old donuts to customers expecting a fresh product. I won’t be returning to this location again.
The Bold Kolache was recommended by Danielle. She gets five stars for that recommendation.
The dog part was properly seasoned with savory notes and that bread was slightly sweet just right and had a light airy chew. It was very fresh.
This was the best kolache I’ve had in Baton Rouge.
The glazed donut is money! I prefer it over krisoy kreme. The specialty donut selection is the largest in town. The cherry flavor was light but the strawberry did not disappoint.
The apple fritter is not as good as the one at Mary Lee in my opinion. Mary Lee has a crisper crust and the glaze on the one at Mary Lee is more dynamic.
Ask for Danielle next time you go!
Fun experience for my daughter. We had never been in this area and happened to find Shipleys. I had heard good things so we stopped by for a little treat. The service was quick, friendly, and the cashier went above and beyond to help my daughter pick the best choice of donut. Even had fun colors for kids that you don’t see in most donut shops. We will definitely be going back.
Went back today for a new flavor- same great service. Highly recommend. Thanks Brittany!
