The Smiling Dog

Picked specifically because it was dog friendly. We had my mom's pup with us that is basically human, so.... wanted to be able to dine with him. They have a dog menu! Lol. He had the bacon and eggs. My food was ok. I enjoyed the Cuban sandwich. I did not like their hummus appetizer, but, I don't think I can really complain about hummus at a non-mediterrean restaurant 😅. The sweet potato fries were good, they had honey on them. Overall, nice seating outside, dog friendly, neat vibe. Would return.

I've always wanted to try this place... It used to be under another name, but the new one is actually pretty cool. I got the fish & chips, and a side of mac n cheese. The fish was freakin' HUGE, and tasted amazing! The fries were really good, and that mac n cheese was phenomenal!! Great atmosphere, great service, good beer selection, and just a great vibe! Ascension Parish was ranked the best parish to live in Louisiana. Y'all should consider a location in Gonzales!! Just sayin' lol 😉

Sometimes the simplest places create an atmosphere of spectacular food and drink! This place has both! The sports bar feal with a simple but extremely tasty menu! Highly recommended the bacon wrapped shrimp! Service was great and there wasn't a bad seat in the house!

It’s after church and games are about to kick off so where do you go. You want cozy and affordable, yet your dog wants to go out too.
I don’t have a dog but found a place where you can eat outside and enjoy some great weather, food, sports and yes they ask you to bring your dog. How awesome is that!!!
It was a little busy when I got there and I wanted to sit outside to enjoy this cool weather. The wait was less than twenty minutes. Pretty awesome.
My server Lillith was pleasant in suggesting something to drink and stayed attentive. I tried the chicken and waffle. This would be my only complaint. Four chicken strips with one waffle was a really light meal. The food was cooked well but portion size was small. That is my only complaint.
I will be coming back again to try other foods and maybe I will even try some dinner sometime. If you are a cyclist, I parked my bike at my table and was not harassed about it. That is awesome.
