“It's in walking distance to my home. I think the employees are nice overall until they are stressed and then they just shut down or snap at you. I am accustomed to my order being wrong, but the past two times I've gone, it's been correct. It could use some cleaning but overall, it's just ok.”

“Small little bistro style restaurant with and without ambiance. The with ambiance is the original art on the walls. The without ambiance is the party rental style chairs with the personality of a spaghetti supper in church basement. As for food, its good. They refer to family recipes of longstanding, but recently I enjoyed the Riverboat sandwich. The chipotle pepper mayo really brought up the flavor profile of the entire sandwich.”

“Amber our server was awesome! Love that smile! We had the pepperoni cheesy bread, meatball trio, Funky Q pizza and Sausagefest calzone. Love the food and the atmosphere! Coming back to try that frozen coke!!”

“Good flavor, good size, but the crawfish were too soft so I couldn’t peel them without it breaking apart.”

“Even though the place is outdated we went to drink something cold and nice. It’s a place can’t missed with this hot weather. Root beer floats are the best I’m not a big fan of root beer but it tastes like any root beer that I ever tried before. So if you need a place to cool down with something refreshing and delicious this is the place.”

“Easily the best Chinese food I've ever had. They give you so much! Egg rolls are perfectly crispy here, I love the chicken teriyaki appetizer, and there are plenty of vegetarian options. I'm a repeat customer here and my experience has always been positive.”

“This is one of Baton Rouge's finest for fried chicken...but only at Thursday lunch. The chicken has the best coating with just the right spice flavor. All the specials are served with a choice of two sides...rice and gravy, stuffed potatoes, Italian salad, brocolli, and many more. Each day has it's own specials...today it was the chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, and stuffed green pepper with crabmeat and shrimp. The roast beef poboy is a favorite too. For dessert the peach cobbler with ice cream was delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. We definitely will go back...for sure next Thursday!!!”

“Second attempt in less than an hour. We drove a little out of the way because we really wanted this. After not having it for 20 years, it definitely lived up to the hype with both super personable staff AND food that tasted amazing! The mini taco order was absolutely the first of many as hubby and I head out West this week. Boy have I missed them! ☺”

“We went here for our 12th anniversary. We had crawfish beignets and blue crab gnocchi for starters. Both were good but the beignets were out of this world good. Next I had a blue cheese wedge and my husband had the duck and andouille gumbo. The gumbo was the best I have had in a while. Entrees were the redfish, which we suggest getting blackened for better flavor, and filet mignon with crawfish Mac and cheese. Yum! Our server was the best. Desiree was sweet, funny, and efficient. Her lovely personally made every trip to our table a pleasure. We will be back!”

“Capital City Grill is such a great local restaurant that serves up wonderful cuisine inspired by Cajun country. The food is always fresh, hot and flavorful. The drinks are ice cold and delicious. The wait staff is friendly, courteous and efficient. I've had several different items on this menu and they are all just perfect. Kudos to the management and servers for keeping this place running smoothly and most-importantly SAFELY during this COVID-19 pandemic! Great job CCG! Keep it up!”

“Beautiful night eating outside. Great music and delicious oysters. The bacon and brie fries were very tasty but lacking in the bacon. The turkey, bacon and brie sandwich was also good but lacking in bacon. Would we go back? Absolutely! However, hopefully they will work on this constructive criticism and improve on a good sandwich. We will give it another try next time.”

“Got the number 18 phililly cheese and let me tell you.. texture was great! Wrap had the perfect amount of crunch, veggies were fresh and meat was cooked to the tender sweet spot. I'll be back. I'd have a better picture but.. well it was good Also the shrimp and corn soup was fresh and smooth like grandma used to make”

“We had been at the levy and old Capitol building most of the morning and were tired hot and hungry. We stopped in at Downtown Seafood. We were met at the door with a sample of fried shrimp which told me we were in for a treat. Darlene ordered a burger and fries and I a shrimp Po Boy. Wow the burger was massive and really great. The Po Boy was amazing with some of the best shrimp I have had in a long time. I strongly recommend a stop here while downtown, you will not be disappointed.”

“Is this a real food place or something sketchy? I called and the person said Palace was opening in a month. The google streetview image says 2019 April. I'm writing this 2019 Aug 12. The other reviews don't have any words written. Searching Palace on Louisiana Department of Health didn't find this place. Possible it takes 4 months to open. Maybe the other reviews are from a previous location...”

“We checked into the Hilton where this restaurant is located because our flight out of Baton Rouge was cancelled due to bad weather. We knew this restaurant was decent having stayed here before and we didn’t want to go out in the pouring rain. At first we were worried because there was one woman who greeted and seated us and announced she would also be our server, but Helen was fantastic! She served us and two other tables, plus a huge party that came in after us.”

“We went at 11am for Sunday brunch but unfortunately they stop selling breakfast at 10:30. The sandwiches we got were great (Third Street Poboy was perfect) but we will have to try to get there early for a bagel.”

“A complete package - great bar beverages, a range of excellent entrees (& a range of prices), attentive service and a beautiful venue. We enjoyed a chopped salad, pumpkin poblano bisque (superb) and hamburgers (as good as they come). It was obvious the kitchen has its act together. We were pleased we dined here in the hotel instead of wandering the streets looking for a place to eat. While the restaurant offers old school dining, it features modern technology. The menu is on an Ipad showing pictures of most menu items and providing detailed information about ingredients.”
