    OMG - where should I start? We discovered John's by accident as we wanted to try Bellue's. However, since it was a Sunday early afternoon, it was closed, so we drove around and found John's across from the Burger King/Jax in the box. What a gem - it is the proverbial hole in the wall and I am not sure how they pass any health inspection. But the food is simply great. We had the seafood gumbo and shrimp Po'Boy - both were my first introduction to real LA food. I was not disappointed. I wish I lived closer - definitely would visit John's on a weekly basis.

    Super fast service excellent seafood. 12 FISH strips with fried rice is my favorite. Must go to if in baton rouge....

    I'm so glad this California transplant tried the shrimp poboy. I had it without mayo... The shrimp is so delicious. Not sure if it was the butter in the shrimp or bread, it was so good. Ill have to come back when im in Baton Rouge. Excuse the messy photo, its damn good
