    Great Poboys. We had a dressed shrimp, dressed roast beef (with gravy), and dressed hot Italian sausage with tomato gravy.

    The restaurant was very well staffed with pleasant people. They even have gumbo! A lot of local flavors here.

    The atmosphere is like walking straight into the 80’s. It’s nice to support a local business like this one!

    We always enjoy our lunch trips to Short Stop. My favorite is the roast beef po boy. Always good service, hot fresh food, and a friendly family atmosphere. Very affordable as well. Highly recommend for quick, casual lunch!

    Best gumbo and poboys in all of the New Orleans metro area!

    I moved away from NOLA many years ago now but Short Stop is literally my first stop from the airport during every visit. I judge all other gumbos to their chicken sausage gumbo. My favorite poboy is their signature roast beef. You can never go wrong. I also love their crawfish tail (but only during crawfish season).

    I literally dream of this place when I know I will be going to visit New Orleans.

    Visiting New Orleans? This is the perfect stop for lunch on the way back to the airport. Delicious. I always take a large jambalaya to go for my husband. He loves it.

    Roast beef is where it’s at! Got mine dress with mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomato. Roast beef is shredded and tender. Has a nice seasoning flavor to it. I got the regular 9”, they have a 14” available also. They also had the famous lemon Hubigs pie at the counter! Drinks are canned or bottles. Soda and water.
