Uncle T's Oyster Bar

Finally a seafood restaurant that doesn’t smell like a fish market or like burnt grease!

The seafood here is FRESH, flavorful, and perfectly fried. Your fried foods don’t swim in overused grease before making it to your table, either. All that along with prompt, friendly service, VERY GENEROUS portions, and a restaurant as clean as their flavors makes this a place you’d be sorry to pass up.

We had a sampler of all of the charbroiled oysters and they were fantastic. The Cue Time platter (seafood platter) fed two with leftovers and was some of the best fried seafood I've had in a long time. Great beers on tap Ghost in the Machine!

The service was GREAT!! Ordered the Holly Beach Slammer, fried oysters and fried jalapeños. All of the food came out in a timely manner. All of the food was so delicious ?. The only oysters I didn't taste was the kandy oysters, because the wife decided she didn't want to share. I definitely recommend this place for charbroiled oysters and the sweet tea was perfect. Hope anyone else that visits enjoys it as much as I did!

The atmosphere was very casual. I visited on a Monday nite and the restaurant was packed, yet the wait for a table went very quick and easy.
The food was very good and there is a nice but not over whelming selection of items to choose from. Be sure to try their boiled shrimp and charred oysters in a variety of flavors when they are in season.
The staff was very friendly, answered all of our questions and our server even offered to us some of her favorite dishes to try from the menu.

Come here if you miss old school professional hospitality and want excellent oysters and poboys.

I was in New Orleans at Acme Oyster House the next day. Uncle T's is every bit as good and does a true NOLA style. Personally, Uncle T's has them beat with a selection of styles.

What really made it for us though was the service.

I understand every business everywhere is concerned about liability and getting busted or fined by the government.

However, most of the hospitality industry has forgotten their purpose. They've forgotten that it's about serving guests, making people feel welcome and comfortable.

Uncle T's has NOT forgotten their guests and they deserve to be called out for standing up for the South Louisiana hospitality that's second to none!

Big thanks to our server, the short-haired blonde who was behind the bar and waited on us at the cocktail tables. I am terrible with nanes, but she was so kind, attentive, and really cared.
