Marlie's Restaurant

Looks great & so far I love the hush puppies french fries and garlic bread. My husband, wanted to try this place & KNOWS I LOVE REAL Seafood & would rather pay more$ for 100% REAL Seafood he got me stuffed shrimp platter.
I didn't want to hurt his feelings and ALSO wanted to try the Seafood too. But after eating 1 of the stuffed shrimp -
((( It doesn't taste like All real Crab meat I believe it's part imitation Crab meat)))
Growing up in Chalmette with Most of My Father's Family were Fisherman. My Grandparents, fished at Delacroix Island! So I grew up not knowing there was such a thing as imitation. With both sets of Grandparents, My parents, & All 17 Aunts & Uncles, combined... Eating
LOTS of seafood.
I guess I'll try some boiled shrimp next time.

The service and atmosphere were both really great! I loved how nice the people were but they really need to change their oil more often the onion rings as well as my crab cakes both looked burnt and had a taste to them that you only get from old oil. For the price you would think they would change their oil more often. For this reason I'm giving this place a 3 star review. We might try it again in a few months but for now I think I'll stick with other places that I enjoy.

Loved our dinner last night. Outstanding menu, very friendly staff, beautiful locally hand painted cypress seafood decor! The co-owner, Micah, was very attentive and even made me a delicious skinny margarita. He had never heard of it, so he looked it up and made one served in a particularly nice Marlie’s cocktail glass. Our appetizer of Marlie’s skewered shrimp was perfect. My flounder topped with ettouffe was delicious with a loaded baked potato. My husband had the fried shrimp and oyster combo.- a perfect meal! Only open a month and there was a line waiting outside! Highly recommended!

We got the boiled shrimp as an appetizer. They were seasoned just right and peeled easily. The the main course I gad the Trio platter and added a stuffed crab. Everything was delicious and amount of food great for the price. I highly recommend you try it out.

The food was outstanding and the portions were large enough for two. Our waitress was quick and very efficient. We will be going back !!!
