Great place for a different hot dog experience. Don’t be afraid to try something a little different, it’s like going to New York or Chicago without taking the flight.

We had been looking for a great shrimp Po-Boy all week. We were just walking in the neighborhood we were staying and found this place. It was SO INCREDIBLY good. They were fresh tasting and shrimp were perfectly cooked. Breading was crispy and shrimp were large and tender. I wish we would have found this place on our first day here instead of our last. The service was friendly and welcoming. The place was clean, bright and fun. I wish we could take them home with us.

I've been searching for a decent hot dog since I moved here a few years ago.
They do have a decent dog here, but I don't know what the infatuation New Orleans has with "gourmet hot dogs" and super giant dogs and buns. The simplicity of a great dog is flavor, bite, and the ability to eat one handed.
The business is in a good corner, not much parking with 2 other restaurants next door. It's a bright, colorful, clean, well-kept property. The young lady behind the counter was nice, polite and very pleasant.
I wanted to try a couple of items, so I ordered The New Orleans Saints Dog
(Yellow mustard, relish, chop onions, dash of celery salt, and tomatoes)...$7.00.
The Audubon Park Alligator Dog (alligator meat hot dog, chili, tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup and yellow mustard) also $7.00
That's expensive! I could tell they use quality ingredients, though.
    THE FOOD:
The Saints dog... again, super big all beef weiner and large bun, piled high with onions, tomatoes and relish. The dog itself is kind of greasy tasting. It can't be eaten like a hot dog, so I cut it in half and still had a hard time getting a taste of everything in each bite, and got mustard on my hands and nose! I ate 1/2 and went to try the alligator dog. It's large, too, so I cut it in half, but the chili soaked through the bun and it just came apart, so I had to just cut it up in pieces to eat. They give you a knife and fork, so they must expect it to be eaten that way. The alligator is a tough, greasy meat and it's hard to bite thru the casing. The chili is ok. Kind of a funky flavor to it, and there's not much chili on it.
The fries are ok. It was almost $21.00.....
It's a nice place with nice folks there. I'll try a po boy or something if I go back. Still looking for a great dog, though.

They have the best roast beef poboy in the country. That beef is so tender and it has the greatest flavor ever. The gravy is amazing. And listen she makes the best 7up Pound Cake in the city. It's so moist and delicious. And the fries have a coating on it that makes them just right. I have also tried their hotdogs with chilli and it was the greatest ever.
