The place is loud with music and a bit rundown. Now for the food. I got the Seafood Knockout Bell Pepper plate which includes crab cake, potato salad, stuffed bell pepper and crawfish cream sauce topped pasta shells. The bell pepper on the menu says seafood, but it was certainly not. It was ground beef with 2 little shrimp in it, and the meat was too chewy. Potato salad average. The crab cake and the pasta were good. The sauce was a dead-ringer for Copland’s sauces. The prices are high for some items, and I’ll probably go back and try something else. This is an update on my second visit getting the stuffed crab plate. Again I got burnt because you would think a stuffed crab would indicate stuffed with crab meat- wrong again. It’s stuffed with no seafood but ground meat and bread. It is topped with crawfish cream sauce. Parking can be tight during peak hours. The pic shows hot sauce I topped certain items with.
Had an incredible dining experience with superb food at this restaurant. The ambiance, however, felt a bit run down, resembling a nightclub in the restroom with flickering lights. Despite a slight delay in service, the delicious and fresh food, along with great company, made it a worthwhile experience.
Our first time in NOLA and we were having a hard time finding the amazing food we kept hearing about. The food in the tourists areas (French quarters, canal Street, etc) were watered down and left much to be desired flavor wise. Then we found Pee Wees and they DID NOT disappoint! They were honestly the saving grace of our trip to NOLA food wise. Everything was perfectly seasoned and well-prepared. Crab cakes were crab and not just fillers. Loved the potato salad. For the fried fish, and shrimp - both the protein and the batter were seasoned, everything was so good. The pasta was so creamy & flavorful. The wings - the chicken was seasoned and the barbecue sauce was everything. Not overpowering, everything just melded together so well. Wish I could give 10 stars. Had to make one more stop before we left town a couple days later, got some food for the road and it was equally delicious.
Our last night in Nola and we wanted a seafood boil. The seafood was fresh, cooked to perfection and that butter sauce....my my my.
Issa hole-in-the-wall spot with good food. Its rather expensive though based on what comes in a boil but that wont stop me from coming back. This one boil was $58.
