    Catfish is cooked to order and always fresh! You don’t get any hush puppies though they stop giving those away. But the red beans and rice taste really good! I’ve been coming over here for years and it’s consistently been delicious every time. The people that work in there are super friendly!

    Best stop for good fast food. They had fried green tomatoes and okra!! Yummy.

    Traveling thru Louisiana and stopped for gas in Monroe, LA. Mel's is attached to the gas station. Saw the catfish sign and thought it sounded good. I wasn't disappointed. Next time I'm traveling thru will stop for fried green tomatoes which I noticed were on the menu as I was leaving.
