Laughing Crab

Wow. Without a doubt, the best seafood I’ve ever had in our town. Rivals many high end coastal restaurants we’ve been to. Our waiter Christian was friendly and attentive. We waited a few months to try it….giving them time to work out some kinks. We will be back. Worth every dollar we spent. Try the Old Bay seasoning if you love authentic coastal city restaurants. You won’t find it on any other menu around here.

Wow!!! Fabulous food and fabulous service by our waitress. My husband said this was the best shrimp he’s had in a long time. My king crab and lobster were delicious. The waitress went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was the best. She was very personable and knew a lot about the menu and help us make our decisions. We told her we would be back on our way through this area when we return. I hope she’s working when we get back.

Pretty good service..food came fast and we where shown to our table quickly..prices are ok..parking was limited.the only issue we had was that a couple of our sides where undercooked (egg & potatoes ) but all and all it was a great experience for us.. but we will definitely return..

Some friends of mine tried out this place right after they opened. They recommended it to me, said the food and service was great. I’m not sure what has changed in the short time they’ve been open, but my experience with the service was completely sub-par for a place you spend $100+ for two. We walked in, the place is newly remodeled and looks great, we waited to be seated for about 5 minutes, we watched servers standing at the bar talking, others running food, nobody acknowledged we were even there. If I didn’t have my mind set on seafood, I would’ve walked out. Finally we were seated and ignored for a little while as the wait staff had some friends just hanging out, they didn’t seem to be eating or drinking, just distracting the wait staff. The bartender came out and introduced herself as our server. We ordered a beer, she brought them out, my mug was half full, my date’s was overfilled. We waited for another good while when she came to take our order. She was knowledgeable about the menu, we ordered the couples combo. While waiting for our food, our waitress brought us our silverware, bibs, gloves, crackers, bucket and sauces. The food came out in a timely manner and was hot. The shrimp and crawfish was great, the crab and lobster were a bit over cooked. I’d consider returning, but I doubt I’d spend the money on what I did.

Stop by the laughing crab today and I ordered onion rings, clam chowder, shrimp basket, medium heat sausage. The onion rings were blah, think cheap diced onion rings that are frozen and pre-bought. The clam chowder tasted good, was mostly potato, and I only had two pieces of dime size clam. The shrimp basket was OK however I noticed towards the end of the meal when I remove some of the batter that they actually deveined all of the shrimp. Not many places take the time to devein fried shrimp. The sausage was gross. All they did was pour salt in a little pepper on top of it. I sent it back asked him to rinse it off. It came back plain and it tasted good. Don’t have them add seasoning. Staff was friendly and attentive. However some of the other customers were loud rude and yelling to get the waitresses attention.
