Staying the night at the Maxey Care RV Park and walked next door to try the Village Cafe. Good food and great prices, friendly staff. Burgers, pizza, PoBoys, fried chicken and a good selection of sides, you won't be disappointed.

This is a good place with an American menu, good cooks & a friendly staff. They serve a variety of comfort foods, from good hamburgers, fried chicken, rib racks, shrimp & catfish plates & poboys, with your choice of side orders (potato salad, porkn' beans, French fries, cheese sticks, etc) to pizza, & more. They also have great, daily, fresh, 'home-cooked' plate lunches from Monday through Friday. Homemade cookies, small cakes, pralines & other goodies may be available for desert for anyone with a sweet tooth. Calls for take-out are welcomed. This is a very casual, comfortable place, with tables & booths that are usually filled with mainly local customers, including farmers, law officers & other working class folks, who eat in or take-out their lunch. The 'older generation' regularly meet there in groups, to 'catch up' while enjoying their meals. The owners are quite often on-site, & you may find them among the lunch &/or supper crowd, talking business with their manager during their meals, or chatting with customers! If you prefer, you can play Video Poker, while waiting for your order or after you've had your fill.
