East Gate Barbecue

Fantastic pulled pork sandwich!! So loaded with delicious pig the bun couldn’t hold it- had to use a fork with the bun as a tasty toast side. Inexpensive & SO good. I usually eat seafood in south Louisiana but This is the place for bbq! My only complaint is they were out of dark beer. Minor problem & the food made up for it.

I’ll start with the positives. The food tasted great. That’s about it. I ordered online so I’m assuming eating in is a much better experience. My sandwich had almost no meat on it. $13 for a sandwich isn’t exactly cheap but it is what it is. The mac and cheese was on point! My fiancé had the brisket plate with slaw and baked beans. She said it’s ok. I kept checking the app to see what it would be delivered bc it was a long wait. 44min from time of order till food was picked up. Less than 2min after food was picked up it was delivered. I was 1 mile away stuck at work. Food was luke warm at best. I’ll give them another try but definitely only if I can eat in.

Very good! Menu is varied with solid prices and serving sizes. Meat was juicy and flavorful and the Jalapeno BBQ sauce was delicious.

Plan to return and try some of the daily specials and other options!

This place was a great find! The BBQ was the real deal!! I had the Big Sloppy and a side of fries. It was really really good. There were a lot of little things that were good that together made it an enjoyable experience. They have a jalapeno and maple sauce that is out of this world. The coleslaw was awesome. The bun that the sandwich came on was amazing even though I only ate the bottom half. The price was very reasonable. The service was pretty terrific as well. The only knock is the walls are saturated with years of food smells and grease. It's not a dirty place but you can tell it hasn't been redone in a long time You definitely take the smell with you when you go. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in the area.
