Red Bird Fried Chicken

I had the spicy dark and mac and cheese, overall fantastic fried chicken, really a league above what you'd be used to from places like popeyes. The chicken is very very crispy yet tender and juicy. The one complaint I have is the spicy chicken really has almost no spice to it, I'd say it's a great and flavorful mild but really not spicy at all. Side dishes, at least the ones I sampled, were all top notch. At about $10 for a 3pc meal I can no other place that comes close to redbird around northshore

Heard great things about their chicken. The spicy, dark chicken is freaking fantastic. Aaaand that's pretty much it for the love. When we entered, we were scowled at by a cashier with all the warmth and personality of Paul Giamatti. FUN FACT: It's so easy to pretend to be pleasant and happy to see customers. Try this in the mirror, "Hi! Welcome to Red Bird Fried Chicken. Please let me know if you have any questions. How was your meal? Thank you for coming. Please come back soon!" Not here. The staff sets a toxic "for lease soon" vibe that's hard to ignore.
The bland sides and off-brand condiments makes me think this place is as doomed as the restaurants that preceded it. It's a bummer, really. The chicken is good! Throw some effort into the sides (the chicken is very greasy and needs some clean, bright sides to balance it out), stop letting the CFO set the menu, and energize your staff. I'd love to see you guys succeed.

I had a 2-pc spicy chicken with gumbo and a roll.
The roll was delicious. The chicken was fresh, skin was crispy and meat was juicy. I did enjoy it but I’m not a big fan of a wet batter. The gumbo had a nice flavor but the rice was crunchy.

Be prepared if you’re not tech savvy. Upon entering you make your on order on a touch. I little cumbersome to make your order and view all choices but it works. Prices are a little high $17 for 2 piece white 2 sides and drink. Plenty of food to fill you up. Chicken was good ver crispy and a little spicy. Red beans were very salty. Mac and cheese was good with a nice touch of fried bits to top them off. Overall good but nothing spectacular.

Hubs and I tried this new restaurant and were happy with it. We love the self-service ordering. I got the two-piece white meal with red beans and Cole slaw. Hubs got three-piece dark chicken meal with red beans and Cole slaw. Both were delicious. The chicken is spicy but not that spicy. The red beans and Cole slaw were delicious as well. We hope to come back and try the chicken tenders because they looked delicious.
