Desi Vega's Smokehouse & Tavern

We ( 5 of us) were there today at noon. The place is very nice. Our server was great! My hubby and I had the burgers, unfortunately who ever cooked the burgers did a horrible job, they were burnt, like someone forget them on top of the grill for hours. when you pay $22 for a burger, it should be perfect. My son had the 2 meats (chicken and pork), 2 sides and he was pleased with his meal. We did enjoy the bacon cheese fries.

This is an extention of the main Desi Steak House of Nola and Covington but with a more casual setting and food options. The atmosphere and space is open and decorated trendy. They serve pizzas, sandwiches, etc. It's a decent addition to Mandeville especially being several eateries have closed. It is moderately expensive. Service was great. Food was ok. Crowd was social. Would recommend if you haven't checked them out yet and or looking for something fresh in the Mandeville area. ⭐️

First off Carson our waiter was on point!The staff is just as amazing as the bbq! Was the first time for the wife and I, but definitely not the last! Can’t wait to go back! The red beans and rice with the fried chicken was mouthwatering goodness! The wife’s pulled pork plate with the baked beans was amazing as well! The flashed fried onion rings along with the honey bacon butter cornbread! Unbelievable!!

My son and daughter in love invited me to dinner with them. They had been to the spot before, but it was my 1st time.

The restaurant itself is a beautiful place, nice and clean, inside and outside. Outside has these really cute tic tac toe games on the tables.

We were seated quickly, very nice hostesses, and at the table, the server came rather quickly to take our drink orders (just water🤣).

Cam was his name. He was really friendly and very attentive. He acted like he knew us from the neighborhood...lol

The food presentation was great, plus it didn't take long to come out. They serve you on these really nice plates also and nice place mats.

They have these massive chandeliers in the middle of the room that gives it an elegant yet country vibe with everything else going on. I especially like the cut-up wood that's displayed. Decor is really nice and the restaurant has an open feel, not too close to the next person.

The food was really good, the cornbread was DELICIOUS!! I had the deep fried chicken with the red beans. It was good. The chicken was nice size pieces. I don't cook with salt, so I could taste it in the skin. I just peeled it off, but the chicken was juicy.

My son and his wife both had hamburgers. One with mushrooms and queso. I definitely would try that one.

Okay, I definitely would recommend this spot! I'll be bringing my husband next time.
