“Nice old time diner atmosphere. We had breakfast and tried a little of everything. The bacon was a little too crisp for my taste but the steak and eggs were done to perfection. The pancakes and French toast were very tasty, and the grits were smooth with no lumps. My favorite was the home fries cooked crisp, but not too crispy, with onions. Our waitress was friendly, kept her tables sanitized, and made sure everyone had what was needed. We really enjoyed our breakfast!”

“We recently visited this McDonald's on our way back home to Texas. I want to send my praises to Wayne for his exceptional hospitality and for making our visit so pleasant. I have never received such amazing customer service. He was professional and caring. He greeted us warmly, took our order, and pointed out all the precautions in place during the pandemic that were meant to help keep us safe (disinfecting wipes and hand gel stations). This made us feel very comfortable given that we hadn't eaten inside a restaurant in a long time. So glad to see all the employees wearing mask too. Wayne promptly delivered our food to our table and had us verify that our orders were complete/correct. During our meal he offered us refills and offered to help clear our table of any trash. Wayne went above and beyond. I was truly impressed and grateful for him after a stressful time on the road with two toddlers. Wayne is a gem and truly deserves the recognition and a raise! Restaurant and bathrooms were very clean.”

“SHOCKED this is only 4.6 stars :) Just goes to show there are people out there that probably should not be allowed to rate places. Seriously this is the first place I can remember eating at that is a legit 5 out of 5 stars. We ran the Rock and Roll half in NO (review is a bit delayed, but heading back and already on our radar when we head that way :) and were driving home and "stumbled" upon this restaurant.. The waitress was awesome and recommended everything on the menu. "There was one dish she didn't like but they no longer made it lol" We ordered some apps and each of us ordered a different dish. We sampled each other's dishes and literally each of them was incredible. The servings are YUGE and we left with enough food to eat and be stuffed again lol. This will be a stop on the way in and out from now on. What a gem! Can not heap enough praise on this place. Incredible story of how they have survived and rebuilt.....twice! Probably doesn't hurt the owner is also a Marine...Semper Fi! We will be back!”

“This review is for the Sunset tour. First, you check in at Bayou Adventure. There you sign a waiver and get to pick a snack and drink. They will give you directions to make your way down the road a few miles where you start your tour. Ample parking. The tour itself started around 5:30. It was a very leisurely trip down Cane Bayou to the lake. This part of the trip is not strenuous at all, so no need to worry if your not the best kayaker or out of shape. The kayaks have a spot to store a bag and a small waterproof box for phones/wallets. We brought a backpack with water and snacks. We had towels in the car. If I could do anything different, I would bring bug spray in the kayak. We had left it in the car, but it would help the trip back in the dark. Lots and lots of mosquitos Once you get to the lake, you get to relax for 30-45 min and watch the sunset. On the way back, the guide will give you a headlight as you will be paddling back in the dark. This is an entirely different experience. Here you may get to see some other wildlife (possums, owls, etc...) if you catch them at the right time with your light. While I didn’t see alligators, some people in our did see alligators. Overall, this was an incredible experience! I would highly recommend it.”

“This place was an experience! My wife and I stopped by here on a trip to go Kayaking on the Northshore. First, no that you will need reservations. Unless I missed it, you will need to call to make these reservations. We wanted to go on a Saturday and we (after having our kayak trip canceled twice due to weather) discovered that you have to call in advance. The first time we called mid-week and they were booked up. Maybe not for weekdays, but definitely for Saturday. The restaurant has various themed rooms. All are adorable. The tea service is great! Soooooooo many teas!!! I had a black tea that was recommend. My wife had a hibiscus. Both yummy. I had the Windsor high-tea while my wife had Shepard’s pie. Both were tasty. The scones are absolutely the best!!! My only gripe would be the customer service was a little lacking. Everyone was very very friendly, but it wasn’t the fastest service. It took probably 10 min from the time our check was dropped off for the waitress to make her way back around. Ultimately it didn’t really impact our experience so I am still happy to rate them 5 stars. Overall, this place is a gem and very unique. Highly recommend!”
