Commodore's Pizza of Amite

Great pizza, much like their Hammond location. We had a Godfather with traditional sauce and it was as expected. Good ratio of all toppings, good crust. Had a minor miscommunication when ordering - when you say you want mozzarella sticks you may end up with the bread version and not the friend version - either way it was carb laden cheese so we weren't upset - I'd just advise being clear that you want BREADsticks or FRIED cheesesticks if you are picky. We had the buffalo wings on a previous visit before the review page was available and while the wings are of great size and are cooked well, the 'sauce' was underwhelming. Really, they were wings that were covered in a thin watery sauce that laid in a puddle in the bottom of the basket. It tasted vaguely of buffalo and was completely forgettable. I would not recommend though I will eventually try them again to determine if this was opening pains or just how they feel it should be. Finally, while I do like a sweet sauce on occasion - this sweet sauce seems cheap. Like, right out of a can, tomato sauce cheap. Overall though, the pizza (traditional sauce) is solid enough to warrant the score - and im going to venture out on the menu and continue to determine if this is a pizza only stop, or if it can be a jack of many trades.

I had a party at Commodore Pizza in Amite tonight. West and Allie did a great job accommodating the party. Thanks to chef the food was delicious!

My new favorite place in Amite! Atmosphere is great, wait staff is awesome, and food is terrific! Lasagna is da bomb!! Pizza is one of a kind!

So we have had take-out from Commodores in Hammond. The food was exceptional there, even after the 45 min drive to our place in the middle of nowhere.

We were excited when we heard they were opening up in Amite. With limited options in Amite, this is a welcome choice.

We were not disappointed.

Pro's:
- Menu isnt cluttered with nonsense. Easy to choose and easy to identify what's on your pizza or calzone.
- Kids menu is a nice option. My daughter loves it.
- The atmosphere, setup, and ease of access is also great.
- The pizza tastes great; no skimping on the toppings, and portions are just right.
- Bar looks great.
- Wait staff is courteous and takes time to explain.
- Good location in town.
- Plenty of parking.

Con's:
- Took a while to get our pizza. Not a complaint, since its a new place and has a lot of customers. Just plan accordingly.
(pizza is well worth the wait)

Overall, outstanding place to eat. Will definitely come back for more! Keep it up Commodores.
