New owners make all the difference! Details matter. And Gray Gulf delivers as the absolute cleanest convenient store/gas station you're liable to find. Entry and exit is easy and plenty of parking. Safe, well-lit, and did I mention clean?! Cleanest restrooms of not only any gas station, but any public restroom period. If you're looking for huge selections and a full service deli restaurant, this isn't it. But they maximize the space they do have with well-stocked, on-the-go essentials like all your favorite chips, candy, sodas including fountain drinks, fresh Community Coffee, and cold beer, juice, energy drinks etc. They do offer Hunts Brothers Pizza by the slice (or "Hunk": a 1/4 of a pizza), or order your a whole pizza with your favorite toppings at no charge for toppings, good wings too! Smoked sausage and boudin, along with meat pies. They're now serving daily plate lunches M-F for a really decent price. When I was there last I observed a cashier named Anita who appeared to be fidgiting with a row of candy bars, her look was steady and serious. I chuckled and asked her, "What in the world are you trying to do with those Hershey bars?" Floors smelling like freshly mopped purple Fabuloso, she replied, and I mean dead serious, "The owners don't play", smiling, she continued, "He wants everything in its place and in perfect order". And that just about told me everything I needed to know. You WANT your neighborhood convenient store to be run like an OCD clean-freak! Yeah, it sounds kinda funny. But these guys are SERIOUS about being the best at serving you.
