Restaurant 1796

I mean... my wife and I travel 3 1/2 hours just to eat here. We stay close by for the weekend and eat at 1796 at almost every meal. Their steaks are phenomenal, the atmosphere is calming, the staff is friendly... but those steaks. Eat slow and enjoy it.

A very modern clean and cozy atmosphere.
I appreciate that the hostess and staff were friendly and codvid mindful. All workers had worn their face coverings.
The food was excellent!! I ordered the hamburger and truffle Mac& cheese. For appetizer we order rabbit livers.
I would highly recommend RESTAURANT 1796.

Such a great place! The macaroni appetizer was excellent. The cheddar drop biscuits are simply amazing. Made with Jalapeno's, corn and cheese all in a biscuit covered with a spicy honey butter sauce. Yum!

The lamb burger and fries were delicious. This is a great place for a date or to bring the family and walk around to view the beautiful grounds.

Absolutely must eat here!!! I had the absolute best rack of lamb with a very flavorful mushroom risotto. It was perfectly paired with their hand crafted fresh cocktails ( I had the rum killa) my husband had the chef's choice fish of the day. It was a snapper with pineapple and almond on a bed of grilled asparagus. I think what shocked me the most was how extremely responsible the price was. I will eat here again and strongly recommend anyone driving through to stop and enjoy.

My team are here for lunch. The cornbread and sides were really good. The potatoes are pleasantly crunchy and the greens slightly sweet. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes. I found the cheeseburger to be greasy and rather average. I'd definitely recommend eating here and trying anything but the burger.
