I stopped in to Sami's Cuisine and Cocktails(Pic 1) in Fort Kent, ME for the first time May 3, 2023. I have to tell you, I'm so glad I did. After grabbing a seat at the bar I was brought a menu. As I'm looking things over, I was given a tray of chips and salsa(Pic 2). It was completely unexpected and a nice treat.
I had been looking over the menu for a while when Sami, the owner, asked me if I knew what I wanted yet. I told her the difficulty I was having and she came right over to help me. After discussing what I was thinking, she told me I needed to have the Pho (Fah). She told me she would make it as a 3-way combo with chicken, beef and shrimp. We discussed spice tolerance and she told me she'd take good care of me.
As I was sitting there enjoying my Long Beach cocktail(wish I had grabbed a photo) made with vodka, gin, rum, tequila, Triple sec, sours and cranberry juice, I took in my surroundings. I found Sami's to be very family friendly, warm and inviting. Everyone there seemed to be having a great time. It wasn't long before my meal showed up(Pics 3,4). My Pho was absolutely fantastic!!! This traditional Vietnamese dish was made with rice noodles, bean sprouts, scallions, and of course my 3 proteins. The spice was on point and made the entire dish pure perfection. I simply loved it.
Sami's menu is extensive with something for every taste. It's quite eclectic, which is very enticing. It's going to keep me coming back to eat my was through the menu. I found Sami completely charming and engaging. You can clearly tell how much she loves what she does. Her employees share that same characteristic. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. If you haven't been, you need to treat yourself to an amazing dining experience. Just GO! I know I'll be back.
Came here to have a nice dinner celebrating my birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. The service is a little slow but we were sipping the delicious cocktails and mock tails we ordered. I had an appetizer of the bang bang Shrimp which were heavenly. My friend ordered a chicken pad Thai and I got BBQ ribs with fries which was delicious. Everything was freshly prepared which made sense for the waiting time but it was so worth it. There’s something for everyone when it comes to price ranges, our total came up to $78 because we went all on our experience. The atmosphere is wonderful with chill music plying in the background. Would definitely come again.
Food
The Spring Rolls
We're pretty good. They were deep fried, which is okay, but I've had fresh spring rolls that were not fried, apparently is my preference.
The Thai Chicken with Sticky Rice
was okay. I found it to be a little heavy on the soy sauce. I am a bit sensitive to sodium, so... Yeah
The Drunken Noodles
Was much better. Lots of flavors, delicious.
Drinks
The signature cocktail - NC The Outer Banks. Those were great. Yum!
The service was great. The atmosphere was great. We will definitely return to try out other menu options
Very much enjoyed being there for the first time. The atmosphere was very nice. The black and white setting and low light was the first thing to take notice of when you entered. After about 20 seconds or so, a waiter approached us to ask us where we would like to sit. After he seated us, he approached us with our drinks ( water) and asked us for our drink orders and if we wanted appetizers. He was very personable and extremely nice. We ordered a loaded nacho and pot stickers with our drink order. My wife absolutely loved the pot stickers. Been a fan of them since we watched a show. After getting our drinks we ordered our meals. Which was the chicken Ramen bowl and a beef pho bowl. Both were delicious. The only issue I had was that there was MAYBE too much broth. After our meal we both ordered the bread pudding. Has to be the best bread pudding I've had in a long time. Overall, the experience was amazing.
Very calm and neat place. Variety of options for American and Asian cuisines. The price is worth the quantity and quality. Few local beers and cocktails also available. Top service and ideal for small and medium gatherings. Usually busy on Fridays and Saturdays. Highly recommend the Pad Thai noodles very good.
