Fantastic scratch made breakfast and pastries. They cook with love over there and it shows! Perfectly seasoned, nice portions and very reasonably priced. Space is clean, lovely and inviting. Service was prompt, pleasant and good for a chat. Can't wait to try dinner--great job guys!
We can’t recommended this place enough. High end food and service with wide open parking and not even 10 miles from Portland. Smooth atmosphere, ambiance, from the appetizers to the dessert an on point curated selection of food and libations without being pretentious. We had the pot pie interpretation and the prickly things app was SO GOOD plus the tomato chutney was something I never had but now need a jar. I wanted to try everyone!
I had some time to spare before an appointment so I came in and got a breakfast sandwich and coffee. The girls behind the counter were friendly. My sandwich was very good! made on a home made bagel (sour dough?) With what looked like a home made sausage. I asked for the egg on the side for my dog who was riding with me that day and it was individually wrapped and when I opened it it looked absolutely beautiful with a nice color and it was perfectly cooked and my dog was very happy to have it after a long ride. The coffee was also hot and fresh.
What an amazing dinner!!!! A night to remember with my husband of 29 years - we enjoyed everything about our evening at Dara Bistro. Great service, relaxing atmosphere & the most delicious meal - we will definitely be back for more! Thank you Brian for your special attention on our anniversary! The only thing left to say is YUM!
On a pleasant summer evening, I had dinner in the shady outdoor space at Dara Bistro with my daughter and preteen grandsons. We'd been to its previous incarnation as the Food Company in past years for casual outdoor summer lunches or hot cocoa and muffins in winter in the charming old building. But we were delighted to sample the elegant, appealing new dinner menu. We shared two appetizers and each had a different entree from the relatively short but varied menu including steak, cod, and tofu (they have a couple of choices for kids), all of which were perfectly done and accompanied by delicious vegetables. The highlight was the desserts: the boys were entranced by their cloudless chocolate cake with homemade toasted marshmallow, and my daughter and I were equally happy with our toasted rosemary pound cake with raspberry sorbet and the blueberries and lemon curd with a sugar cookie. Everything was beautifully played, and our waitress was incredibly kind and professional. Definitely a Portland-worthy dining experience in the nearby countryside.
