Soul food paradise

Ate here today and the food is wonderful! The dark meat (yes!) chicken was moist and succulent. The collard greens were spiced just right (not too overwhelming) and the mac and cheese was out of this world! Was mildly disappointed about the lack of chitterlings (yeah, I'm the dude who was asking about them). Completely understood his reasoning for not offering them. Soul food is hard to come by in Maine. What a wonderful addition to the MM food court!

The food was delicious and the portions were extremely generous. I had the fried chicken which was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had and my SO had the BBQ chicken which was literally falling off the bone - no knives required! The mac and cheese was also really tasty! Can't wait to come back!

Soul food paradise has moved to the Maine Mall in the old Arby's location. They just opened today!
Home cooking, so incredibly good. Definitely nothing like it anywhere near the Mall, the Mac &cheese and BBQ chicken are awesome..you have to try this , you will not be disappointed.
This is worth the trip. You will not leave hungry, huge portions.
Will definitely be back!!

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent meal from Soul Food Paradise. The collard greens were the best I'd eaten in a long time. The jerk chicken was exactly the right kind of spicy. (Some of the jerk seasoning got into the mac and cheese, which made for an awesome combination.) The candied yams were - surprise! - not too sweet and neither was the cornbread. I'd describe the fare as comfort food prepared with a considerable degree of finesse. Each dish we sampled had a little twist to it that made it stand out from the usual. I'm looking forward to trying the oxtails & fried catfish! Finally, it's a very friendly place. Highly recommended.

DELICIOUS! We ordered the fried chicken, the jerk chicken, the BBQ chicken and all the sides. Everything was perfect-- the chicken was incredibly tender. The jerk chicken had lots of good flavor, the fried chicken was perfectly crispy and the BBQ was wonderfully sweet (but not overly sweet). The sides were all amazing and we are still talking about them: Mac and Cheese, sweet potatoes, potato salad, collard greens, rice, cornbread.... they were all made with care and love, and the flavors all shone through.
We can't wait to go back!
