Downeast Deli and Boxed Lunch Co.

Small hole in the wall deli but one that made really great subs. I had the italian as I am not really into lobster rolls. It takes credit cards but has no indoor seating. We ate in the park down the street which was really nice on a warm summer afternoon.

Unimpressed with their sandwiches and high prices for box lunches on the go. Flavorless and boring- maybe we ordered the wrong menu items. The gal at the counter acted like she didn't want to be there and was very annoyed with any questions we had. Saving grace for this lunch were the huge delicious brownies.

Loved this deli. Decent prices for Bar Harbor. Good sandwiches. Loved their blueberry pies and clam chowder. Efficient front staff. No inside sitting but there is a nice park nearby to sit and eat. Also, there benches along the street. Got lunch there daily last week much better than surrounding shops.

Old fashioned style sandwiches with your choice of a variety of meats. We tried the turkey and chicken, both were thick cut. The taste was a bit bland but nothing a little salt & pepper couldn't fix. Quick grab and go lunch. Get it boxed and you are on your way. No bells and whistles, seemed very "Maine", which I very much appreciated. It was recommended to us and I would definitely say it is worth a try.

Got a very delicious Ruben on rye. The bread was fresh and plenty of pastrami. The sandwich was very good. My wife and I easily shared it. If you need a bag lunch to go, this is the place. Great location on Main St near the pier. I will come again to try others.
