Happy Clam Shack

Great place..are outside which was chilly in October. They had a nice fire going. They were awesome showing our kids the live lobsters.

We stumbled on this place by accident. It looked friendly and inviting and not a ton of people. The kitchen staff was very welcoming. Nice set up outside. We only waited 10min and took our food to go to watch the sunset at Hadley Point. We were given the “shell crackers” to borrow and asked to drop off later if possible.
So generous and trusting (because they’re helpful when eating a whole lobster). We did drop them off later - around 7 and the place was hopping. We didn’t try the pie but heard it was great. They had everything to offer—FRIENDLY and CASUAL, plenty of seating, GREAT food and fair price based on going rate.

Didn’t actually eat there. But the crowd was huge! We waited in line but couldn’t find a menu outside, or online. When we got inside the little shack Where a mask was mandatory, none of the staff were wearing one.
Menu was basically lobster boat ($28), lobster, and steamers. (About the same price) We weren’t interested In Anything on the elusive menu so we went somewhere else. 3 star because they must have good lobster if you like lobster.

I ate here for the first time today while on a trip to Bar Harbor. The food is excellent, the service is fast. I actually saw a blue lobster here and was told it would be spared. The blueberry pie is the very best I have ever had in my life. The blueberry pies I have eaten in the Philadelphia area are nowhere near as good. The blueberry pies at the Happy Clam Shack are made with small, sweet, wild Maine blueberries and have very little filler. The are made daily. It is a "must" for dessert. I went home with a whole pie. Stop in, you won't' be disappointed!

We enjoyed a delicious fresh steamed lobster dinner outside by the fire. This family-owned business traps its own lobster to serve guests. Blueberry pie for dessert. Heavenly. The staff was wonderful, and the owner was giving instructions to guests to help them eat their lobsters. Be aware there is no indoor dining here,. You must eat outdoors on picnic tables or take your food to go.
